Thanksgiving Point field trip

This was a pretty exhausting and entertaining trip. I took a massive amount of photos (mostly of the kids in my chaperone group), so here we go....

This museum is totally 5 senses learning approved! The kids LOVED it and I enjoy it every time too.

MOM's day

Here's our mother's day gifts:
I hope none of the mothers take offense if their grass didn't grow so well.

lARge yARn ARt

I came up with this fabulous activity to help the students remember the "ar" sound and spelling. The kids love saying it with a pirate accent :-) They got to choose a cAR, fARm, shARk or stAR and outline it with yARn.
Ms. G was a big help on this tricky art project.

The kids worked hard but some of them ran out of time to finish.
Next time maybe we should do this the same week as the Glow in the DARk pARty...

Fairy Tale Day!

All week we've been practicing acting out fairy tales and folk tales. Here's a group acting out Jack and the Beanstock:
On Friday, everyone dressed up like a character from a fairy tale. Guess which story these characters are from:
We wrote a class book about the character we dressed up as.

CrunCHy sandwiCH day!

This was one of my greatest ideas... Everyone brought in food that has the /ch/ sound and we made sandwiches.
But first we paired up and wrote about how to make the perfect sandwich.
I showed the students how delicious a CH sandwich could be, so when it was time to make their own they dove right in!
OHhh the chocolate milk was such a nice touch!
CHocolate, spinaCH, CHips, Cheetos, CHeese, CHerries.... you ate it all in one sandwiCH!
Learning is delicious!
